“Oliver” Auditions to take place at the Community Park District of La Grange Park

The Community Park District of La Grange Park is getting ready to host auditions for their upcoming performance of the musical “Oliver”. This performance will take place in two acts and calls for a large cast of characters. All are welcome to audition and show off their singing and acting skills. Don’t be shy and see just how much fun being part of a theater group can be.

The performance will open to show the sinister interior of a workhouse with a bare dining table. Pale-faced wretches, Mr. Bumble and Mr. Sowerberry are just some of the characters that will take the audience on a musical ride through delightful songs such as “Food, Glorious Food”, “Where is Love?”, “I’d Do Anything” and many more.

Auditions will be held at the Theater Location: Recreation Center, 1501 Barnsdale Rd. First auditions will be Sunday, February 17 for ages 6 – 16 years old from 2:00 – 6:00 pm. Second auditions will be Monday, February 18 for ages 17 and older from 6:00 – 9:00 pm. Open auditions will be Tuesday, February 19 from 6:00 – 8:00 pm. Wednesday, February 20 will be call backs. The casting will be posted on Friday, February 22. The first rehearsal will be Monday, February 25.

Performances will be held on two sets of weekends. First weekend is April 19 and 20, with a Sunday matinee performance on April 21. The second weekend is April 26 and 27, with a Sunday matinee performance on April 28.
