Nicksons Eatery Unveils New Spring Menu
La Grange IL Restaurant Releases New Menu Fare with Regional Flare
Nicksons Eatery, located in downtown LaGrange, IL released its spring menu on 3.24.11. The new menu items feature regional fare that highlights local farms and produce.
Featured items include the “Pinn Oak Farm Lamb Burger”. “The Lamb Burger with Feta Red Pepper spread, pickled red onion, served on a rustic ciabatta with field greens are a personal favorite and we’re really excited to be offering it this spring,” said restaurant co-founder and executive chef, Nick Baca. The refreshing flavors of the “Baked Flatbread” take your tastebuds on a journey with smoked fontina cheese, herb chicken, spinach, and red pepper pesto.
“We hope to give our patrons the opportunity to taste regional specialties from the comfort and convenience of downtown La Grange,” said Chef Nick Baca. “The end of one season and the beginning of another gives us a chance to release some new seasonal items and it’s a really exciting time for the restaurant.”
Also joining the spring menu include “Crispy Jumbo Chicken Wings” with a house brown sugar chili glaze. The “Seasonal Foodie Salad” bursts with ingredients from the garden including spring asparagus, field greens, Nichols Farm fingerling potatoes, and finished with parmesan frico, tossed in a citrus honey dressing.
Travel to the southwest with “Nicksons Grilled Southwest Skirt Steak”, served with crispy onion, green chili salsa, and ancho chili bacon potato salad.
To complement its new spring menu and cozy atmosphere, Nicksons Eatery, a 2011 Michelin Recommended Restaurant, has also expanded its drink menu – which features an extensive selection of wines, cocktails, martinis and seasonal drinks – to include a larger variety of regional beers. With these exciting additions, the drink menu reflects co-owner Rich Baca’s commitment to offering guests unique, high quality drinks.
The new regional specialties pair well with Nicksons regional microbrews served in frosted mason jars. New additions to the microbrew menu include Rogue Brewery (Oregon) “Dead Guy Ale” and “The American Amber Ale”, a crisp spring Lager from Brooklyn Brewery (New York). From the west coast brings Anchor Steam Brewing (San Francisco) “Humming Ale”. Locally, Two Brothers Brewery (Warrenville, Illinois) “Ebel’s Weiss” is a German style Hefenweizen. A medium body brown ale from Abita Brewery (Louisiana) presents “Turbodog Ale”. Nicksons tableside microbrew beer bucket offer diners the option to mix and match microbrews.
New specialty cocktails include the “Cucumber Mojito”, which features light rum, fresh cucumber, muddled mint and lime, house Lime Syrup. Introducing a new signature Martini is the “Lemonlicious”, made with Absolut Citron, fresh lemon, orange liquor, and Lemon Syrup.
Guests at Nicksons Eatery can also enjoy specials throughout the week, including Half off Wine Mondays (bottles and glasses), Six Dollar Nicksons Burger on Tuesdays, and a gourmet Bloody Mary Bar on Saturdays. Nicksons Eatery will also feature live music throughout the spring months.
