Everyone can use a reminder to thank their friends. For us, the reminder is National Friends of the Library Week, October 17 - 22.  We would like to take this occasion to publicly thank the La Grange Park Friends of the Library for their tremendous support. Every year, the Friends of the Library finances many family and adult programs such as the Summer Reading Program for children.  This year they helped the library purchase laptops for young adult use and a video display for the reference desk.
 
Over 24 volunteers staff the Friends' used Book Shop, whenever the La Grange Park Library is open, to raise funds for equipment such as a scanner for geneaological research.
 
So, during National Friends of the Library Week, we are reminded to thank a group of dedicated volunteers who, like personal friends, help us, support us and make us better.
